From their first word to their movement. In our infant's class we will have an educational, interactive and developmental programmes which will help babies to learn and develop important skills. The class is designed and planned with parents and babies needs in mind. Classroom is designed on a baby's nature, PLAY-REST-PLAY cycle to ensure they are not overstimulated.
Skills such as taking a first step, smiling for the first time, and waving "bye-bye" are called developmental milestones. Children reach milestones in how they play, learn, speak, behave, and move (like crawling, walking, or jumping).
In the first year, babies learn to focus their vision, reach out, explore, and learn about the things that are around them. Cognitive development means the learning process of memory, language, thinking, and reasoning. Listening, understanding, and knowing the names of people and things are all a part of language development. Babies also develop bonds of love and trust with their parents and teachers as part of social and emotional development.
Being confident is what M & N wants to develop on its infants to make it easier for them to move and play with others in a group. They carry sense of security; teachers give them wherever they go. Confident babies are free to explore and learn because they know that a loved one will always be there for them.
A programme is designed to provide each child with a safe, caring, loving and nurturing environment that stimulate learning through play. Teachers will actively monitor each child's development and on a regular basis provide parents with communication regarding their child's progress.
Their learning will mainly consist of: Informal language development activities such as storytelling, listening to rhymes and singing. Identification of primary colours and shapes; pen grip using wax colouring pens by drawing the learned shapes. Physical exercises such as rolling over, getting up and beginning to walk while holding on furniture and equipment in class.
Holding and cuddling by the teacher and re-assurance that they're the best. Stimulating age appropriate in-doors games. Teacher supervised out-doors playing with classmates. Actively potty-training each child.
This programme is designed to be the first step in preparing a child for the preschool programme and while it will reinforce what was learned in the Toddler's class it also consists of the following:
Introduction to literary skills using rhymes. Introduction to the concept of centre play in the class. Activities to stimulate problem solving and creative thinking by using educational and stimulating games. Language development through the use of single words pictures, listening to stories and music, singing songs and going through picture story books.
Basic drawing, painting and modelling activities e.g. using clay. Out-doors play involving pulling, pushing, wheeled toys and age-appropriate climbing apparatus.
This programme is basically a pre-Grade R programme and while it will build on what was learned in Grade 000 it will also introduce learners to the Grade R curriculum. The classrooms will be organised into centres such as reading, maths, writing and literacy corners.
Here learners are introduced to several learning concepts such as literacy, math, and critical thinking skills. Vocabulary development will be intensified, and learners will begin to learn the art of writing and will be exposed to print-rich environment to help them associate written language to oral language.
While the learner's progress will be assessed on a daily basis, parents will be provided with their child's academic progress through quarterly reports.

This programme seeks to ensure that learners excel in what they learned previously and that they are ready for and will excel in Grade 1. Teachers will provide a variety of enrichment activities including games, physical fitness, stories, arts and crafts to revise and reinforce the concepts learned before.
The daily programme for this group is more structured, and opportunities are provided for children to engage in a wide variety of activities such as building blocks, puzzles and construction games. Learners will also have the opportunity to take field trips that stimulate and enhance their experience and learning.
Daily individual assessment, as in all the other grades, is geared towards providing guidance to the teachers on which learning areas needs to be emphasised, revised or clarified for each learner. As in Grade 00, parents will be provided with their child's academic progress through quarterly reports.
